Silly Birthday Aftermath

After the party, it was time for Rebekah to take her bath so we took out her Crown of Clips, as Bethany dubbed it. :) It was amazing how well her hair took to these curls!!!!! THEN, after she was in the tub, I came walking around the corner to find Jeremy squished up, snug as a bug, reading a book in the shipping box that Ce-ce sent her things in. TOO funny! The one of the back of his head I took without him knowing I was there. After that, he was hamming for the camers, but I thought it was cool to see just how small that box was compared to his ever-growing-taller body! Too Cute, very silly, and completely endearing!

Prince and Princess Play-Doh Party

All Rebekah wanted to do at her party was play with play-doh and eat pretty flowers. Not sure where she came up with that last bit, but I did the best I could with edible choices. :) SHe had the best time and truly, it appeared that everyone there did also. It is so amazing to watch kids with a creative medium and no rules go to town with their own innate creativity! Just WOW!! The creations were amazing and the options were endless with tons of plastic animals and anything else we could find for them to stick into the "doh". AWESOME!!!! And of course everyone got to take their creations home with them!
*Side note, take particular note of the "Ode To Brother Faces" Jeremy puts on. Where does he get these from? It's a mystery to me, but HILLARIOUS!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Rebekah Dear!!!

Our Rebekah, the "baby" of our family---*sniff*---is four now, the big F*O*U*R! It's amazing to me and literally every neighbor we have commented on how it was possible!I've got nothing for you, I don't know. The last four years have been very full and very fun and very busy, like all families are. And now we have a 4-year-old Rebekah! For Family Home Evening, we had our new Birthday tradition again. Here are the results:
What We Love About Rebekah
Daddy: I love that Rebekah likes to read books with me and she says "Pokey Pokies"---this is a little inside joke between Rebekah and Brandon. This is the affectionate term Rebekah has dubbed Brandon's goatee whiskers, she of course likes to poke them.

Mommy: I love Rebekah's cutie laugh, she makes others want to laugh too. I also love her creativity, she will ask the preschool kids if they want her to read them a story. Then with them all clustered around her, she'll open up the book, go page by page and "tell" them the story the way she remembers it from when we read them to her. SO CUTE!!!! And those preschool kids LOVE it!

Bethany: I love her cute voice. She is so cute and she likes to play with me.

Lindsay: She helps me when I'm bored. She's careful with the Do-a-Dots. She's nice and she likes to play Barbies with me and go outside with me.

Jeremy: She's a great friend and a good sharer. And she has a cute laugh and she's really smart and she gives me hugs when I'm hurt. (AWWW!)

Rebekah: I love to kick! (?)

We are so thankful and feel so blessed to have this sweet, feisty, rambunctious, creative, precious, pure little spirit in our home! She knows her mind, which is good. She loves life and giggling and loving, which is also very good. Thank Heavens for her!!!

Acrobat Lindsay

Lindsay has found a new passion! So fun!!!

Brandon is amazing to me. I know it bugs him when I have teased him in the past about his handiman/carpenter skills. And for a long time, he really seemed to hate doing things like that. But ever since we did our addition with so many dear family and friends helping, the dam has been broken. He has gotten an idea into his head. He has relentlessly thought about every angle of the idea, how to bring it to the most perfect fruition. And then, he's made it happen! He is a genious! The tree house extraordinaire, Bethany's AMAZING loft bed and desk, the gerbil maze--that is pretty cool, and now this swingset! We knew that the kids weren't too big yet, but were getting there soon. Last summer for camp I had all the existing swings going with older, bigger campers and the whole structure was rocking. SO, Brandon has just been planning away and as soon as the weather got warm enough, Voila! Of course, I feel badly because I was NO help at all. The two days he worked on it were pretty crazy for me so he ended up being the one to haul all 12 60Lb. bags of concrete up down, around and into the wheel barrow and then mix it all to anchor the bases. He found the monstrously heavy steel A-frame brackets online and got the pressure treated lumber home in the minivan--somehow! ;)And then when we thought we would lose the monkey bars, he found a way to keep them as well so now our structure is a huge L with the slide off the front. The man is a genious! Did I say that already? I am so blessed!!! He can do anything!By the way, the one old picture is from when we originally put up the play set in Spring 2005. Amazing!

Between sessions on Saturday we had so much fun at the Tree park across the street! I LOVE where we live!!
