Daddy had this off the wall idea to go hiking in the Grand Canyon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day so we went, hiking boots and gear in tow.
....The moral of the story, never try this before Spring Break at the EARLIEST!! The trail---which of course is shared by the mules, was literally a river of melt water with boot tracks that would scare Big Foot! They weren't even letting anyone on the trail without crampons, which as you know, don't come in size Rebekah, so we stayed high and nearly dry. It was fun to walk along the rim and see all the new improvements that have been done, it's all just beautiful! AND I think we counted 43 different license plates, including Vermont, Florida and Maine!!! We LOVE doing that!! All in all it was a fun day, just a bit different from our original plan, but that's the story of life!! Roll with the punches, and enjoy the ride!! Go see the Grand Canyon, if you haven't in awhile, it is very worth the trip!!
